How to build Diversity and Inclusion in your organization ?

Many organizations have started initiatives to support diversity and inclusion. These companies are trying to promote an inclusive culture. The acute challenges from past have led to an evolution in the work of diversity and inclusion. Organizational priorities has now Diversity and Inclusion as a key vertical. However, Companies need a comprehensive D&I strategy, including how we connect communities, combat racial injustice, guarantee equal opportunity, and use narrative and education to promote long-lasting change.

So, where do you begin is the first question.

Take smaller steps.

Include this as an objective in the Goal Settings for all managers and leaders.

Include this as a part of your IT and Business Strategy. How you will do is something you have to think based on your organizational structure.

Create small group of 5 member team to drive this program at each regional site.

This regional group should be linked to a global network of like minded people within organization.

Identify the roles where you can hire people with disability(Pwd).

Make sure you work with your facility manager to make the campus PWD friendly.

Then in your career portal publish the jobs prominently in a dedicated section.

Once you setup this framework then this D& I groups must be empowered to accelerate inclusion and drive systemic change

You can also have external experts in some of these pannels to guide you with their knowledge.

Many organizations are now supporting LGBTQIA+ communities and create opportunities for learning and allyship behavior across the company.

This will also lead to the addresal of issues like racial injustice, You can then include a sustained focus on increasing representation and strengthening a culture of inclusion.

My earlier CIO Dirk once in  a party told me Bipin , Diversity is that i invite you to my party and Inclusion is when i ask you to come on to the dance floor.
