Ana pana sati meditation , a technique by Lord Budha to achieve Mindfullness

Anapana sati, the meditation on in-and-out breathing, is the first subject of meditation expounded by the Buddha in the Maha-satipatthana Sutta the Great Discourse on the Foundations of Mindfulness. Budha makes Mindfulness meditation made easy for us by a very simple technique. Focus on your breath for few minutes on a daily basis. It will help you settle in and find peace. Thoughts will try to pull your attention away from the breath but with closed eyes again you bring back the focus. Gradually you start realizing body sensations, thoughts, and emotions.

Research has shown that mindfulness helps us reduce anxiety and depression. Mindfulness teaches us how to respond to stress with awareness of what is happening in the present moment, rather than simply acting instinctively, unaware of what emotions or motives may be driving that decision

After couple of days practise you will realize that your breath shortens with a focused mind. This is where you achieve the full state of mindfullness. Keep pracitcing and enjoy the experiences.
